The Starting Point seminar is a three-part gathering for those new to SMC who want to learn more about the church, find out where to meet new people, and how to get involved. We offer Starting Point twice a year. Our next session will be on Sundays in February 2011
The sessions include:
Discovering SMC ~ We'll take a look at God's vision for SMC and, in particular, how it connects with our roots and how it influences the way we do church today.
Exploring Community & Service at SMC ~ We'll reflect on what it means to become a part of a church through loving God and loving others as we worship, fellowship, and serve together.
How Do Mennonites Follow Jesus? ~ We'll learn how the unique values and experiences of our Mennonite heritage shape the way we live out our faith both individually and corporately.
Following this seminar, we encourage people to attend our Gifts Discovery Seminar to learn more about their spiritual gifts and how we are helping people to grow as followers of Christ by learning what they do best to multiply God's transforming love. At the end of the Gifts Discovery Seminar, people have the opportunity to discuss with a pastor what they've learned, as well as baptism and membership at SMC if they are interested.
If you'd like to receive information in the fall on this seminar, contact the church office via email or at 215-723-3088.
